Overall Interview Process & What to Expect

👋 Initial Interview

We want to get to know you and your experience, what you're looking for in your next role, and to tell you about what we're working on at Notion now and in the future. We want to make sure there's mutually a good fit. This conversation with the recruiter will be ~20 minutes.

🧨 Hiring Manager Screen

This is a 30-minute interview with the Head of the G&A Systems Team. You’ll discuss previous technical projects in depth, focusing on the decisions you made while building them. Come prepared to share some of the projects you’re most proud of. You’ll also cover times when you needed to push back on a business requirement and how you handled that conversation.

🏡 Virtual Onsite Interviews

Domain Expertise (Understanding of the BSA Role) Interview (45 mins)

• This section will focus on how the BSA role works day to day, shaping processes, partnering with the business, influencing decisions, and moving from task execution to strategic ownership. It will highlight how BSAs drive clarity, challenge requirements, and help teams operate with more intention and consistency.

Business Stakeholder Perspective Interview (30 mins)

• This section will evaluate whether the candidate can be an effective systems partner to the functional team: someone who can understand business process needs, translate them into clear systems requirements, collaborate through testing and rollout, and apply sound judgment when balancing stakeholder asks with scalable system design.

Business Cross-Functional Partnership (30 mins)

• This section will assess how well the candidate aligns with our values, work style, and team dynamics. Key areas to focus on are Collaboration style, Communication approach, and Adaptability and growth mindset. Will also assess their technical knowledge in Salesforce.

Career History & Experience Interview (60 mins)
