Applicability and Effective Date of Changes

Notion has updated our Master Subscription Agreement and Notion AI and Notion Credit Supplementary Terms. No changes have been made to the Personal Use Terms of Service. For new Customers, these changes are effective immediately. For existing Customers, these updates will apply effective as of May 1, 2026.

Notion credits and usage-based features terms

Some Notion AI and automation capabilities will be offered on a usage-based model, measured in Notion credits. We’ve added clear terms so it’s easier to understand what’s included, how usage is measured, and what happens if you need more. Please refer to our Notion AI and Notion Credit Supplementary Terms here.

Notion credits (high level)

Notion credits are a simple way to measure usage for certain features, including some Notion AI capabilities and automated actions. Product and pricing details will be covered in separate, feature-specific FAQs.

Notices and overage handling

If you approach or exceed your purchased usage, we may notify you and you can choose to purchase additional capacity. If additional capacity isn’t purchased, we may temporarily reduce performance or suspend the affected usage-based features until the next applicable billing period.

Third-party integrations (including MCP connectors)

We clarified that enabling integrations you choose to connect (for example via the Notion Gallery, APIs, or MCP connectors) may require sharing certain Customer Data and Account Information to run the integration. Third-party services remain responsible for their own practices.

Customer Data ownership

Customers continue to own their Customer Data. The updated language makes that clearer and confirms Customer Data is treated as Customer Confidential Information under the MSA.

Professional Services

We added a dedicated section for Professional Services (like implementation, configuration, training, and migration) so these engagements are governed consistently. Specific scopes and terms will continue to be set out in a Statement of Work (SOW) or Order Form.

Billing Terms for purchasing through Resellers

We added terms for customers purchasing through resellers, reflecting how invoicing and payment flows work in those arrangements.

Suspension rights and warranty remedies

We updated suspension provisions to be more narrowly tailored where possible and to restore access once the underlying issue is resolved. We also clarified the warranty remedy process by providing an opportunity to correct issues and allowing termination if a non-conformity can’t be resolved within a reasonable timeframe.

Limitation of Liability (now mutual)
