Onboarding for Engineering

Welcome to the Engineering Team!

We are thrilled to have you join our engineering team. This onboarding document will guide you through the process and help you get acquainted with our team and the work we do.

Objectives

• Familiarize yourself with our company culture, values, and mission.
• Understand the structure of our engineering team and your role within it.
• Get to know your team members and build relationships.
• Learn about our engineering processes, tools, and technologies.
• Start working on your first project and contribute to our team's goals.

Onboarding Process

1. Day 1: Welcome and Orientation
   • Meet your manager and team members.
   • Get a tour of the office and familiarize yourself with the workspace.
   • Receive necessary equipment and access to tools and systems.
2. Week 1: Introduction to the Company and Engineering Team
   • Attend onboarding sessions to learn about our company's history, values, and mission.
   • Meet with key stakeholders and departments to understand their roles and how they interact with the engineering team.
   • Participate in team-building activities and social events.
3. Weeks 2-3: Technical Onboarding
   • Learn about our engineering processes, coding standards, and best practices.
   • Attend training sessions on our tools and technologies.
   • Shadow experienced team members and work on small tasks or bug fixes to familiarize yourself with our codebase.
4. Ongoing: Mentorship and Growth
   • Be paired with a mentor who will guide you and provide support.
   • Set goals and objectives with your manager to track your progress.
   • Attend regular team meetings and contribute your ideas and insights.
